Falcon Perch
Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, Tarrytown, NY
A lofty piece installed 419 up on the South East tower of the Mario M. Cuomo bridge in Tarrytown, NY (also known as the “new Tappan Zee Bridge”)… A perch for the Peregrine Falcons who nest on the bridge every year. The site sees some pretty harsh conditions (full sun exposure, wind, rain etc) and the request from the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation was for us to use the highest quality locally sourced white oak. These birds have some spectacular quartersawn figure on their front porch!
