We delivered a lofty piece this week to the Mario M. Cuomo bridge in Tarrytown, NY (also known as the “new Tappan Zee Bridge”)… a carefully designed perch for the Peregrine Falcons who nest at the top of the bridge every year. The site sees some pretty harsh conditions (full sun exposure, wind, rain etc) and the request from the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation was for us to use the highest quality locally sourced white oak. These birds have some spectacular quartersawn figure on their front porch!
Note that the perch will actually be installed once the weather gets a little warmer… hopefully in spring 2019… stay tuned for updates!
